Sketches: Weeping Soul and Madame Etolarac

  Weeping soul is made of goat legs, human torso and a tree for the head. He performs on the uni cycle, and does other things like juggling. In this image he is holding a dying rose. I looked into flower meanings to try find one that means anything to do with deceit. These were the few i came across:
Wormwood- absence, bitter sorrow. (absence of actual circus when you arrive) This plant is a herb that looks like pale small leaves, therefore wouldn't really stand out in his hand.
Vervain- protection against evil. Used for medicine purposes this plant would connect to Dr Salem a little. Also adds an aurora of evil to the circus. The plant again is small purple flowers, can also come in white and blue. This is more of a likely option due to appearance.
Thorn Apple (also known as Jimson Weed or Devils Apple)- disguise. At first i didnt consider using this one due to the appearance of it being a green thorny like plant, until i saw the flower that blooms with it. A horn like shaped flower white with a purple centre.
Yellow Rose- extreme betrayal. I used this one in the sketch originally due to it being simple and recognisable. However, i am very fond of changing it to the Thorn Apple.

    I wasnt too confident on the idea of continuing with this sketch at first but depending on time when it comes to making the posters i think i would like to fit it in for how different it is to the others. Weeping Soul can also wear a frilly like performance shirt with detailing influenced by the coat that Bobinski wears in Coraline that i looked at earlier. For the tree, it could be a blossom tree however i think going for a weeping willow tree appearance would suit it more due to the name. However i am fond of painting the leaves a fiery orange red colour. However this could change due to his top colour and colour schemes of posters.

    Madame Etolarac is the new Ring Master instead of Zelroth. I used a photo of myself to base the drawing on, altering some features to be more simplified or exaggerated to create a character. It made sense to me that the Ring Master was based off me due to myself creating it all. Due to this entire idea being inspired by Witches and Tarot cards i decided to add a third eye to the neck. I later added more details to create a more performance like outfit with the feathers in the hair, an earring made of feathers and a bone of someones finger in the centre.
 I drew on some eyeliner however i may change this and take more inspiration from a photo shoot i did with more markings on my face for Unit 4. I dont want to make it too over the top like the original photo, especially as the drawn image is only half the face. However i would prefer some more unusual like markings than just exaggerated eyeliner.
   For this sketch i envision a pale blue background and orange/pink clothes with vibrant royal blue feathers. I think this poster should appear most normal as the Ring master is the one who connects to the crowd and introduces the performers. For instance, "The Greatest Showman" film the freaks were the main attraction that wowed the audience, but not accepted in society unlike the Ring Master who got invited to parties etc as he ran the show. Although if i decide to show how it is all lies through the posters getting darker as you get closer to the tent, I could make another poster of Etolarac which is darker and from a different angle. Maybe revealing the other side of her face to not be normal.
