Piecing together everything i have so far made sense to see if this style would work for the poster. I painted a pale blue background on to the page and went with the colour scheme i pictured when i first drew Madame Etolarac. I can then explore other colour schemes later or create that linear bright to dark series i mentioned before.
Due to the light background the colour had no effect on the skin tone but i think this works as again it looks cleaner and can then appear dirtier later on with the darker colours.

I painted out the branches, three separate branches here are connected. i wanted to keep it simple as i can build up the appearance later on if i decided this works. I added small details and a slight shadow on the left side of the branches to appear as if the light is coming the right and added a more frame like effect around Etolarac so it looks like she can reach right through the frame. I think this shadow does need to be darker and a little bigger to show.

To save time i photocopied an earlier drawing of Etolarac to paint. Unfortunately i was too worried to print onto proper art paper as i wasnt certain if my printer could handle that. This effected the outcome of the paint due to the paper. It appears patchy and i didnt want to build up too much colour all together. so i kept it simple. I then stuck this onto the centre of the border with the background. I added a biro outline to define some features and details which definitely completed the look.

I am quite pleased with this outcome, it can be improved in quality with better paper, and larger so i can paint more details. However, i feel this works well and will be interesting to explore with the amount of alterations i can do for each poster.
Next page i had my colour swatches and which was watercolour or gouache. I then wrote about the improvements i could make and what i would like to develop next, for instance a darker colour scheme but first of all i think i need to explore the fonts for the titles and placements. I could fit scrolls going across the page or just have the fonts with no extra background as the scrolls may be too distracting from the centre.
