Influences: CE Tarot Reader/ Youtuber experience

On Snapchat I noticed one of the Article subscriptions, VICE, had created a piece where they asked a Tarot reader what the cards tell her about the current situation of the world with COVID-19. Lucy Porter explains that the cards tell her that in this point of time it is all about reconnecting with our individual self. We are so use to being connected to other people that the spirits say we need to reconnect with ourselves to get a deeper relationship and understanding with our personal selves. Once this is achieved our surroundings will drastically improve.

   To me this sounds like incredibly vague advice that people have already said about quarantine. However, I did find a different story about a Tarot reading from a youtuber, Jenna Marble’s Mum, Debbie. She tells two different stories one from when she was a college student and a more recent one. These readings seem more specific and unusual.

   The first one a reader randomly told her that she will live with a bald man and a dog, additionally she owns something cold in value. Debbie confused and doesn’t really believe in supernatural didn’t think much of it. Until a week later. She had recently rented out an apartment with a college friend, they bumped into a friend of that friend who invited them to live with him due to needing someone to share rent; with it being closer to the college, they agreed and moved in with him. He just happened to be bald and owned a black Labrador. The same week Debbie’s French teacher showed the class an old French textbook that was rare and expensive, and Debbie realised she owned it. Someone had given her that book years ago. She went home and found it on her bookshelf, and it was incredibly cold due to being next to a wall with strong winds against it.

    The second story was over the phone, late at night she was scrolling through an app and came across another Medium who used cards who was reading someone else. Once he finished, he asked for one last person and Debbie was chosen. He told her some things about her but most interestingly got in contact with her dead mother. Guessing her first name correctly (Genevieve), even though when alive she went by her second name. He said her mother was surrounded by bowls of water and that she wanted to say that something she didn’t approve of then, she now approves. Then asked about why her mother was showing him mirrors. Which Debbie could only guess was about how much her mother cared about her appearance. Then afterwards, he said that he was incredibly thirsty as that spirit drained him.

  Debbie added that Lilydale, a place in New York, is a place where loads of mediums live and support each other. She said at a reading one of them said that Debbie could be a medium as well as she has the intuitive. Adding that she is audiophilic, meaning Debbie is able to hear ghosts. Now Debbie claims she has tried to open up her mind to hear things. Saying she now hears a noise that sounds like someone trying to talk but it is being warped.

   Even though I don’t personally believe in these things as I have never experienced anything like this, I do find these stories incredibly intriguing and would love to see what a medium has to say about me. I also find it interesting how these readers don’t put on a theatrical performance/ appearance. The first woman literally turned around in the car to tell Debbie about her predictions unasked. The second guy just using cards whilst live streaming to viewers for free.
